About Saddle Peak Rainforest

Saddle Peak National Park crowns the highest point in the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago at 732 metres, where tropical evergreen forest reaches from the seafront to a cloud-wreathed summit. The steep altitudinal gradient from coastal mangroves to montane forest compresses a remarkable diversity of habitats into a small area, and endemic birds including the Andaman Serpent Eagle and Andaman Hill Myna are easily observed. The trekking route to Saddle Peak summit is one of the finest walks in the Andaman Islands.
