About Chandoli Forest

Chandoli Forest is part of the Sahyadri Tiger Reserve, perched on the high Ghats escarpment where three rivers — the Warna, Koyna, and Panchganga — have their headwaters. The transition from the dry Deccan plateau to the wet Konkan coast happens within the park's boundaries, creating a dramatic ecological gradient where species from both zones intermingle. Chandoli Reservoir within the forest provides a tranquil centrepiece and excellent birding, particularly during the winter months.
